2012 Show

We have distributed sunflower and pumpkin seeds to all children at Ranskill Primary School in March 2012, so they can enter the Tallest Sunflower and Largest Pumpkin Competitions.

Like all good weekends, Scrooby Show Weekend starts on Thursday, with the Jubilee Year Village Photograph. Get your competition entries in on Friday. Come along to the Show on Saturday afternoon, and to the party in the evening. Sunday brings go-carting in the village, and the Church lunch on the croft. The Church is open all weekend with an art exhibition. All Star readers are welcome.

THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST

Jubilee Year Village Photograph

Local photographer Clive Miller will take a group photograph on the Croft at 7pm. All Scrooby residents - adults and children - are welcome to be part of this historic record.

SATURDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

SCROOBY SHOW

Opens 1pm In the Village Hall and on The Croft

SHOW SECTIONS

Flowers, Vegetables, Culinary, Arts and Crafts, Eggs, Pet Show and Children's Games

Other attractions include: Music, Jam and Pickle Stall, Plant Stall, Pilgrim Father's Bar or BYO, Knitting and Stitching Stall, Church Tombola, Grand Raffle, Tug-of-War, Sweet Stall, Craft Stalls, Children's Raffle, Cake Stall, Bees and Beekeepers

An entry form is included in this issue of the Star, you will also be able to get one from the village web site www.scrooby.net or from the hall when you bring your entries

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT

Saturday September 1st from 7:30pm to midnight on The Croft

Live Entertainment, Hog Roast, Pilgrim Father's Bar or BYO

Tickets 5.00 available from Mark Firth, The Old Vicarage.

SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

11am Go-Kart Racing in the village

1pm St Wilfrids Sunday Lunch

In the Village Hall and on The Croft. Salad, Ham, Beef, Salmon and Quiche. Choice of Delicious Sweets. Bar provided
